Registration Programs

While the majority of attendees at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder are traditional students, the university serves the needs of a wide variety of nontraditional students as well. Each registration program or student type may have different registration and enrollment stipulations.

Nondegree students are able to enroll in Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder Main Campus courses (undergraduate or graduate) through Continuing Education. Some ACCESS students take courses for personal or professional development, while others plan to enroll in a degree program at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder in the future.

Auditors

Community members age 18 and older who aren't registered students are eligible to listen in on regularly scheduled lectures through the Division of Continuing Education's auditors program. For more information, visit  or contact the Division of Continuing Education at 303-492-5148.

Current Students

Current students are not eligible to audit a class; however, they may enroll in a class and change the grade mode to "No Credit Basis (Audit)." The student would pay tuition and be officially enrolled, but would receive a grade of NC for the class, which does not impact GPA. To learn more about grade modes, see Edit Your Class Options.

Discontinued as of Fall 2020, the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Graduate Exchange Program allowed Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder graduate students to take courses at other Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ colleges and universities without applying at the host campus and at no additional cost. The program was an agreement between the following state-supported institutions of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ:

  • University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ
  • Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ State University
  • Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ School of Mines
  • University of Northern Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ

Admitted degree-seeking or nondegree faculty, staff and dependent students not using the tuition assistance benefit can register for classes without additional paperwork during their assigned enrollment dates or open enrollment.

Faculty, staff and dependents wishing to use the benefit must follow carefully.

  • Degree-seeking employees and dependents can register and waitlist for class(es) during their assigned enrollment dates or the open enrollment period.
  • Nondegree students (employees and dependents) may have different registration windows and should consult their campus for more information.

The high school ACCESS program is intended for high school students interested in the challenge of completing college courses at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder. Students in the program earn college credit that may also be applied to high school graduation requirements. For information on eligibility and registration, follow the link below or call 303-492-5148.

The intercampus enrollment program enables students to take a course on another Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ campus if they are unable to take the course at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder. If students plan to take at least one class at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, they are able to request to register on another Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ campus as well. See  for the full policy.

Host campus: For Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder students, the host campus is the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ campus where you're taking concurrent coursework (not Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder).

Home campus: A Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder student's home campus is Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder.
