Story Collider is partnering with ŷڱƵ Boulder for a special edition of its science storytelling show. Five ŷڱƵ scientists will take the stage to share personal stories about how science has affected their lives on July 29.

Startups set to pitch at Demo Day July 28

Twenty ŷڱƵ Boulder students in seven teams will take their next leap into entrepreneurship on Thursday as they pitch their companies to potential investors at the annual Catalyze ŷڱƵ Boulder Demo Day. The startups, four of which are led by women, tackle problems ranging from water quality impacts from pharmaceutical waste to streamlining scholarship opportunities on a universal platform.

Months of 'Shakespeare at ŷڱƵ' events kick off with April 23 birthday bash

The University of ŷڱƵ Boulder will honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death with Shakespeare at ŷڱƵ, a program consisting of more than 40 events and exhibitions scheduled through August. Shakespeare’s birthday – and the day he died – are both celebrated April 23. While historians are not exactly certain of Shakespeare’s precise birth date, they do know he was baptized on April 26, 1564 and was likely born three days before that.

Vice President Joe Biden will visit ŷڱƵ-Boulder next week to deliver a speech on the importance of preventing sexual assault on college campuses across the country. The Office of the Vice President chose to visit ŷڱƵ-Boulder due to our strong efforts to support the “It’s On Us” campaign denouncing sexual violence and encouraging bystanders to be more effective in prevention efforts.

Dalai Lama reschedules visit to ŷڱƵ-Boulder for June 23

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit the University of ŷڱƵ Boulder June 23 after health issues derailed a previous visit scheduled last October, ŷڱƵ-Boulder student and local Tibetan leaders announced today. Tickets are not yet available for sale. Details will be announced in coming months on this University of ŷڱƵ event website.

Renowned culinary and cultural historian Michael Twitty to visit ŷڱƵ Feb. 25

Renowned culinary and cultural historian Michael Twitty will speak at ŷڱƵ-Boulder on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. During the event, which is presented by the Cultural Events Board and is free and open to the public, Twitty will discuss the ties between food, culture and freedom. Tickets will be available at the door.

Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak will engage in a lively talk organized and moderated by students at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Macky Auditorium, the Cultural Events Board and Conference on World Affairs Student Group announced today. Wozniak’s talk doubles as the keynote presentation for the 68 th Conference on World Affairs to be held April 4 to 8.

Join your fellow students, staff, faculty and administration for the spring Diversity Summit Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kittredge Central and the Champions Center. The summit will focus on “Going Beyond II: Deepening the Dialogue” and will emphasize intergroup dialogues, caucuses hosted by the Chancellor’s Advisory Committees on issues relevant to campus, contemporary teach-ins, and inclusive excellence facilitations. The goal of the Spring Summit is to begin to have dialogues for achieving continuous social change.
