Renowned culinary and cultural historian Michael Twitty will speak at ŷڱƵ-Boulder on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. During the event, which is presented by the Cultural Events Board and is free and open to the public, Twitty will discuss the ties between food, culture and freedom. Tickets will be available at the door.

Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak will engage in a lively talk organized and moderated by students at 7 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Macky Auditorium, the Cultural Events Board and Conference on World Affairs Student Group announced today. Wozniak’s talk doubles as the keynote presentation for the 68 th Conference on World Affairs to be held April 4 to 8.

Shakespearean space musical 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' to run March 4-13

The madcap jukebox musical “Return to the Forbidden Planet,” set in a rock ‘n’ roll Shakespearean spaceship, comes to University Theatre this March. Associate Professor Cecilia Pang directs the production, which promises nonstop laughs, infectious tunes and a generous nod to the Bard.

Join your fellow students, staff, faculty and administration for the spring Diversity Summit Thursday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Kittredge Central and the Champions Center. The summit will focus on “Going Beyond II: Deepening the Dialogue” and will emphasize intergroup dialogues, caucuses hosted by the Chancellor’s Advisory Committees on issues relevant to campus, contemporary teach-ins, and inclusive excellence facilitations. The goal of the Spring Summit is to begin to have dialogues for achieving continuous social change.

International bestselling author, journalist and columnist Naomi Klein will visit ŷڱƵ-Boulder on Thursday, March 3, to give the talk “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate.” The talk, which is free to ŷڱƵ-Boulder community members with a valid Buff OneCard and $5 for members of the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. Tickets will be available at the door.

Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras, and Valentine's Day fall within a few days of each other this year. The ŷڱƵ Art Museum is adding another reason to celebrate with the opening of three new exhibitions this Friday, Feb. 12. The opening festivities will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the ŷڱƵ Art Museum, located in the Visual Arts Complex. Admission is free. The evening will include a variety of performances and activity stations, along with the opening of three new exhibits.

Harris, a regular guest artist at ŷڱƵ-Boulder, is widely recognized as the world’s foremost choreographer of hip-hop and street dance theater.
