In a landmark decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled Monday that federal civil rights law protects gay, lesbian and transgender employees. Chancellor Philip DiStefano supported the ruling, which extends to millions of employees around the country.

On May 21, Chancellor DiStefano hosted a faculty town hall with fellow panelists, addressing the challenges of this past spring semester and key planning areas for the 2020-21 academic year.

Provost Russell Moore has named Akirah J. Bradley vice chancellor for student affairs, effective June 1 and pending the approval of the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents. Bradley has served at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder since 2016 and was appointed interim vice chancellor for student affairs in January.

At its meeting on May 19, which was hosted remotely, the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents voted to approve a zero percent increase in tuition and fees for the 2020–21 academic year, a suspension of merit increases for fiscal year 2021 and more.

The University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents received updates on the state budget and university system, as well as campus budget scenarios on Wednesday, April 29.

Via a virtual meeting on April 16, university operational impacts, as well as state and university budgets, were presented and discussed with the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents.

A preliminary budget review at the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents meeting on Feb. 14 included a proposal for tuition and fees and a compensation pool for faculty and staff that is expected to be finalized at the April board meeting.
