Application cycle for 2024-25 is now complete
How to Apply
Complete the following application and submit before the training deadline. We recommend drafting your responses in a separate word processor before you copy and paste them into this application portal. None of our short-answer questions have word limits, but make sure to give each question some thought. The best applicants give thoughtful, thorough answers and share stories that exemplify their adaptability and willingness to learn.
Project Selection
The application will ask you to describe your research interests. If you don't know what kind of research you'd like to conduct, tell us about which topics in school intrigue you the most or what kind of challenges you'd like to solve. Your first research experience involves identifying what kind of questions you like to ask; trying this for the first time is part of the research process. However, if there's a topic you do not want to study or a technique you do not want to learn (such as coding or benchwork), please make that clear in your application.
You may participate in research outside of your major, department, or college, but some projects will give preference to applicants from within the same department due to funding restrictions.
Demographics
You are not required to share information about your identity or demographics; we analyze this data separately from your application to learn more about who engages with our program. This information is uncoupled from your responses and will not be a factor in our admissions decision.
Application Requirements
- You must be currently enrolled, full-time, at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder
- You must be majoring in a STEM field in either the College of Engineering & Applied Science or the College of Arts & Science

If you have any questions about the application, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at STEM_Routes@colorado.edu
