This event is sponsored by the Boothby family in honor of their daughter, Ashley Boothby '13 who is being honored at this year’s Law Alumni Awards Banquet with the posthumous presentation of the Dean Edward C. King Making a Difference Award.

Barriers to Well-Being: Causes of ImpairmentÌý

Members of the legal profession frequently report experiencing perfectionism, anxiety, overwhelm, procrastination, depression, stress, strain, burnout, and substance use issues. During this lunchtime presentation, attendees will learn how these experiences impact well-being from cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and physiological perspectives. The presentation will also dispel common myths about behavioral health issues, discuss the difference between acute and chronic stress, review supportive practices, and provide guidance around how to help colleagues and family members.Ìý

Elizabeth Lembo, Clinical Coordinator for COLAP, will present. Lembo graduated from the University of Wyoming with a MS in Counseling and is currently completing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Adams State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has served as adjunct faculty at Adams State and the University of Denver. Her clinical experience includes evidence-based treatment of behavioral health issues including substance use, PTSD, depression, and anxiety.Ìý
