The University of 欧美口爆视频 Law School is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at 欧美口爆视频 Law Writing Competition. The first- and second- place winners, respectively, are Starla Doyal (鈥16) and James Murray (鈥17).

The competition consisted of a complex ethical scenario mimicking a real-world situation for which students provided recommendations and guidance from the perspective of a practicing lawyer. Students provided legal, ethical, and practical advice and solutions in the form of a written memorandum and addendum regarding a potential organizational and public relations crisis.

鈥淭his is a wonderful achievement for Starla and Jim, who each demonstrated the type of practical problem-solving skills that will serve them very well in their professional roles after graduation,鈥 said Dean Phil Weiser.

鈥淢ost real-world ethically questionable situations do not have an 鈥榚asy鈥 or clear solution. Through this competition, students gained practical experience navigating many viewpoints and interests while providing professional recommendations,鈥 said Melanie Kay, director of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at 欧美口爆视频 Law. 鈥淏oth essays demonstrated excellent judgment and persuasive arguments for a complex issue for which there is no single 鈥榬ight鈥 recommendation.鈥

Both winners will receive a scholarship prize and join a celebratory lunch. To learn more about the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at 欧美口爆视频 Law, please visit www.colorado.edu/law/daniels-fund-ethics-initiative.
