Supporting Student Resiliency

The Supporting Student Resiliency Professional Development Series provides Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ faculty and staff with concrete skills to better support students. Sessions focus on areas critical to student retention and success. Faculty and staff can attend any individual session; those attending all three will receive a non-degree certificate.

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid training is designed to help individuals assist someone experiencing mental health or substance use concerns or crises. Participants will learn about risk factors and warning signs, engage in experiential activities, discuss professional and self-help resources and practice a 5-step strategy to provide support. Mental Health First Aid for high education provides tailored information for college and university communities.

Students Supporting Students: A Student Leadership Series

Students Supporting Students training offers concrete skills and information about topics relevant to healthy student leadership. In this three-part series, students learn skills for facilitating impactful and motivating conversations, effectively supporting others in distress and practicing effective self-care.

WellÅ·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ: A Health and Wellness Learning Series

Take a study break and join us for free snacks, learningÌýand discussion! The WellÅ·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ series offers concrete skills and information about topics that are highly relevant to student health and well-being. Students can attend any individual session; those attending all four will receive a non-degree certificate of completion.

Additional Trainings

Employees can engage in a number of training opportunities, including new courses that focus on mental health and student support.

This course provides a brief overview of mental health support. Participants will gain an understanding of why mental health is important, how it can impact academic and job success and support resources that are available. You will also learn to recognize signs of distress, respond effectively and refer someone to appropriate resources.

This 3-hour workshop builds on the Skills for Mental Health Support Skillsoft training course. This course provides additional time to help staff and faculty practice what they’ve learned, engage in hands-on experiences and ask additional questions.
