The mechanical properties of surfaces can be investigated by indenting with a probe of known geometryÌýand measuring the resulting force. The Hysitron TI950ÌýTriboindenterÌýat MIMIC includesÌýa number ofÌýadvanced options beyond quasistatic indentation including DMA, scratch and wear testing and humidity,Ìýtemperature and submerged sample testing. Precise co-locating of the optical and indenter locationsÌýallows for mapping of the sample properties to surface features.​
