Getting the Certificate

To receive the Certificate candidates must:

  1. Successfully complete 8 courses (24 hours) in Central and East European Studies. This must include at least one course from each core cluster (History, Social Science, Literature), and HIST/CEES 1626. Five (15 hours) of the eight courses (24 hours) must be at the upper division level. Only 9 credits that apply to the student's major(s) can be used to fulfill requirements for the CEES certificate.
  2. Fulfill the requirements for a B.S. or B.A. degree in an established major in a school or college of the University of 欧美口爆视频
  3. Maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 in all courses taken for the Certificate.

While not formally required, students are strongly recommended to take at least two years of a Slavic or East European Language. Two years of university-level language study or successful performance on an equivalency examination can be substituted for one of the 3-credit lower division courses.


Study Abroad:

Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of a recognized study abroad program in Eastern Europe that is affiliated with the University. The summer program in , sponsored by the Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures, is especially recommended. 欧美口爆视频 also has connections with programs in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Turkey, and Hungary. Consult the at 303-492-7741 for details. Courses taken in such a program, as approved by an advisor, will count toward the certificate in CEES.
