Sarah Cowan is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Social Responsibility & Sustainability (SRS) Division. She teaches first-year and sophomore courses: The World of Business (BCOR 1015), Business Ethics & Social Responsibility (BCOR 2302), First-Year Global Experience (BADM 1260) and Communication Strategy (BCOR 1030).

Sarah joined the Leeds School of Business in 2015 after completing her MPA at Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a focus in nonprofit management and social entrepreneurship. Prior to attending graduate school, Sarah worked in organic farming and sustainable food systems, was a freelance journalist, and served as a volunteer coordinator for a large nonprofit. She holds a BA in Communications Magna Cum Laude from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. A New England native, Sarah first came to Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ as an AmeriCorps NCCC member in 2010.

Prior to joining the faculty, Sarah advised first- and second-year students as part of the Leeds Career Development team and served as Assistant Director for the Leeds Honors and Scholars Programs supporting experiential learning for high-achieving business undergraduates.

Sarah brings her experience in the social sector and student development to the classroom. What she loves most about her work is helping students discover and pursue their passions. In her free time, Sarah enjoys attempting to recreate recipes from foods she has tried abroad and spending time in the mountains with her husband, young son, and their dog.
