BFA 2024ÌýSpring At-Large Assembly Representative ElectionsÌý

Elections for BFA Assembly At-Large Representatives occur each year during February and March. Assembly At-Large Representative seats are open to all eligibleÌýcampus facultyÌýand are voted on by the full faculty senate. See Becoming a Member for more information on what is entailed in serving as a BFA At-large Assembly representative. All terms are for three years.ÌýÌý

2025 At-Large Assembly representative election details:

Seat Vacancies:

  • 1 teaching/clinical faculty seat rostered in either Arts & Sciences (A&S) or Other Units (Non-A&S)*
  • 2 seats rostered in Other Units (non-A&S)

Nominations are open from ÌýMonday, February 3 through Monday, February 24.Ìý

Please email self-nominations to BFA Secretary Vicki Grove at bfa@colorado.edu and include:Ìý

  • Nominee’s title and affiliation (A&S or Non-A&S), home department/unit;Ìý
  • A brief statement (2-3 sentences) describing why you are interested in running, and/or what issues are of interest to you;Ìý
  • An email header containing the phrase BFA Election Nomination.

Nominees are voted on by the Boulder faculty senate and will be held via Qualtrics from Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 14.Ìý

*Other units include: Leeds School of Business, College of Engineering, College of Media, Communication, and Information (CMCI), Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Law, School of Education, Campus Libraries, Environmental Design, and the College of Music.Ìý

Nominations from colleagues are also welcome, however the email must copy the nominee in order to show confirmation they are willing to serve.Ìý

Spring 2025ÌýBFA OfficerÌýElections

Nominations will open on March 31 and close on April 11. Elections are held via Qualtrics on Thursday, May 1 from 8-5pm and results are announced at the BFA May Assembly meeting held in Wittemeyer Courtroom from 4-5:30 pm.Ìý

Seat vacancies and other details will be posted in March.Ìý


AY25-26ÌýBFA Fall Elections -ÌýElections for seat vacancies on BFA Standing Committees are heldÌýin September.Ìý Additional BFA and Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Faculty Council seat vacancies as noted will be included during this time. The nomination and election process for these seats has two phases - internal (only open to BFA representatives) and external (open to all Boulder faculty senate members).*

BFA Assembly representatives vote on nominees for both internal and external elections.Ìý

Election Updates

Spring 2025 Assembly At-Large Rep SeatÌýElections:

There are three at-large representive seats open:

  • 1 seat for a Teaching/Clinical Faculty member in either A&S or Other Units (non-A&S)
  • 2 seats for faculty in Other Units (non-A&S)

Dates are as follows:

  • Nominations Feb. 3-24, 2025
  • Elections - Mar. 3-14, 2025

BFA Elections: Academic Calendar Cycle

September
  • BFA representatives are elected to fill open standing committee seats - Phase I
  • Remaining open seats become open to all eligible campus faculty and are voted on by BFA representatives - Phase II
February/March
  • BFA At-large Assembly Representative vacancies are advertised to eligible campus faculty with an electronic election occurring between February and the end of March.
April/May
  • BFA Officer vacancies are announced to eligible campus faculty and nominations are accepted.
  • BFA Officer & ExCom At-Large Representative seats are elected at the May General Assembly meeting. Representatives must be present to vote
