- Assistant Professor Kathryn Materna's focus on earthquake cycles and tectonic deformation will add depth to Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder geodesy research.
- Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation and Dean of the Institutes Massimo Ruzzene has named Alexa Van Dalsem director of the Office of Contracts and Grants. The appointment is effective on Jan. 1.
- Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability Chris Ewing has named d’Andre Willis as assistant vice chancellor for planning and design. Willis will continue to serve as campus architect, as well, a position she was appointed to in 2021.
- Effective Jan. 1, Fernando Rosario-Ortiz will be the interim dean of the School of Education, as named by Provost Russell Moore. Rosario-Ortiz currently is the associate dean for faculty advancement in the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
- Scott Sternberg will help set strategic direction, coordinate with Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵbit researchers to capture large-scale research opportunities and translate quantum research to operations through networks of industry partners.
- Merritt Turetsky will play a pivotal role at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder’s Center for National Security Initiatives developing a community of researchers interested in national security-related Arctic research.
- Chancellor Philip DiStefano announced that after a national search, he has appointed Benny Shendo Jr. as Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder’s first associate vice chancellor for Native American affairs.
- Kathy Schultz, dean of the School of Education, announced she is stepping down from the post to return to the school’s faculty. She will remain as dean of the school through the end of the calendar year.
- Shannon Curry, the principal investigator of NASA’s MAVEN mission, will join the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, where she will also hold a faculty position in the Department of Astrophysical & Planetary Sciences.
- Chancellor Philip DiStefano, in his annual State of the Campus address, announced plans to retire as chancellor once a new leader for the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder campus has been selected. He will remain at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, leading in other roles.
