Laverne Cox, an Emmy-nominated actress best known for her role in the Netflix series "Orange is The New Black," will speak at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder’s Macky Auditorium on Jan. 25. The speech is co-hosted by the university’s student-run Cultural Events Board and Distinguished Speakers Board.

Looking for housing or off-campus resources for next year? Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s annual January Housing Fair is a free event that offers students a convenient way to view hundreds of local properties. Many local landlords, property managers, vendors and real estate agents will be in the UMC for the fair.

The Recreation Center will be offering students free fitness classes Jan. 16 to Jan. 22 and free martial arts and dance classes Jan. 23 to Jan. 28. Several Intramural Sports and Sport Club meetings will be taking place at The Rec during this time, as well.

The Cultural Unity and Engagement Center is excited to announce the second annual Ignite: Yourself, Our Community, Our Future – A Social Justice Retreat for students from Feb. 3 to Feb. 5. The purpose of the retreat is to facilitate students' understanding of diversity and social justice within the context of leadership.

The Bioneers network event Front Range Eco-Social Solutions will return to Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder Feb. 3 and 4. The event, produced by the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Environmental Center, brings together progressive thinkers of the region to address both global and local issues.
