Michael Litos, an assistant professor of physics at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, has won an Early Career Development Program (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation.

Former mechanical engineering faculty member Jenifer Blacklock has returned to the College of Engineering and Applied Science as the director of the Rady Program at Western Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ University. She will lead the Western-Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder partnership alongside Senior Instructor Holly Brunkal.

Terri Fiez, vice chancellor for research and innovation, has announced that Denitta Ward, assistant vice chancellor for research and director of the Office of Contracts and Grants, will retire this summer.

The New Venture Challenge, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder's premier cross-campus entrepreneurial program and competition, connects the campus with the Boulder community. Participants attend events, network and collaborate with mentors and form startup teams to pitch for funding of up to $100,000. Apply by Jan. 29; the championships are scheduled for April 13.
