David Bolen became the first ŷڱƵ student to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team in 1948, running the 400-meter dash. His trip to the 1948 Olympics in London ignited a passion in what sports could do for world peace, and led to a post-Olympic life as an ambassador to multiple countries.
