Russell Moore, ŷڱƵ Boulder provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs; Amy Hutton, ŷڱƵ Boulder associate vice chancellor of enrollment management and chief enrollment officer;and Michael Schulman, the ŷڱƵ Community College System's associate vice chancellor for student affairs, offered welcome remarks highlighting the importance of supporting ŷڱƵ community colleges and the impact connections made at the event can have on improving these transfer pathways.

Participants engaged in disciplinary and transfer student experience working sessions to share updates, guidanceand feedback on a variety of academic programs and student life areas. Discussions focused on curriculum gaps, transfer pathways and degrees with designations, communicationand information sharing.

The primary goals of ŷڱƵ & CC Connection are to build networks and inspire action toward improvements to the ŷڱƵ community college transfer student experience. As an example, discussions at previous ŷڱƵ & CC Connection events resulted in the creation of College of Media, Communication & Information (CMCI) transfer guides for ŷڱƵ community college students. The collaboration between the pre-transfer and CMCI advising teams provides a clearer pathway to ideally save time, money and frustration with the transfer process.

“We look forward to hosting this event each year. We received positive feedback from both ŷڱƵ and ŷڱƵ community college participants on the benefits of continuing these conversations and the impact they can have on transfer students,” said Miki Brooks, director of transfer success initiatives at ŷڱƵ Boulder. “We hope to build on this momentum to include more faculty, instructorsand unit leaders in future events, as well as action on proposed solutions.”

ŷڱƵ & CC Connection 2025 is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 14. Contact Brooks to participate.
