Finalist interviews will take place in late March and early April. Dates and times for the public forums with each finalist will be announced soon. The goal is to name a new dean in late spring.
Naming a new dean marks the next step in the reorganization of the College of Arts and Sciences. Additional searches for the new divisional dean positions of arts and humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences are forthcoming.
“I’d like to thank Dean Matusik and the committee for their very careful and extensive work in selecting our finalists to lead Arts and Sciences into the future,” said Moore.
“I’d also like to offer a special thanks to Jim White for his steady and thoughtful leadership as acting dean of A&S. In an almost five-year stretch that has included two years of handling a complicated set of pandemic-related issues and other transitions for the college, Jim has led A&S with decency, compassion and respect.”
