The community concert series is a new addition to the ŷڱƵ Boulder Fall Welcome lineup. It takes place in the university-owned parking lot across from The Sink, at the corner of 13th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.

“I really wasn’t expecting that big of a stage,” said Rosen, a student artist who was one of the first to play BuffStreet on The Hill. “When I got there and saw the stage, I thought ‘This is going to be great.’”

Rosen said the ŷڱƵ Student Government student body presidents who emceed were wonderfulhosts. He said he’s excited to take the stage again on Sept. 9 for a double set with his band Mr. Mota.

“It’s something special,” he said. “People walk by, walk right over and start dancing. It’s so fun.”

The series is shaping up to be a unique way to kick off the fall term, saidAssistant Dean of Students Devin Cramer, who was on the BuffStreet on The Hill planning committee.

“We wanted to make a stronger student experience on the Hill,” saidCramer. “With partners in ŷڱƵ Student Government, the Office of Government and Community Engagement, the city and The Hill businesses, we’re very excited to do something new in that neighborhood.”

Cramer said organizers knew there was a student appetite for music and dancing off-campus. The idea for BuffStreet on The Hill, which coalesced this summer, was a natural way to get students engaged with The Hill community in a positive way.
