The ŷڱƵ Boulder Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Engineering Center on the ŷڱƵ Boulder campus. In a video posted to social media, a woman is seen making racist comments toward students. ŷڱƵPD is asking the public for assistance in locating her because police consider her a person of interest in this case.

She is a white female, approximately 5’3” to 5’5” tall and 130 to 140 pounds, with short blond hair. ŷڱƵPD does not believe she is affiliated with ŷڱƵ Boulder. Police believe she is the same woman they found camping on campus last month, in violation of ŷڱƵ policy. If you know who she is or if you see her on campus, please call ŷڱƵPD at 303-492-6666 or 911.

ŷڱƵ Boulder Chancellor Phil DiStefano also sent a message to the campus about the incident stating that the person who committed this racist act will be held accountable to the fullest extent possible.

ŷڱƵ Boulder administrators and staff also have contacted the students involved and other students impacted by the incident to discuss the university’s response and provide support as appropriate.

“I've been in this country for the past fiveyears and have been attending this school for the past threeyears, and I must say this is the first time I've experienced such a thing,” said the student who was targeted in the incident. “It was obviously disturbing and uncomfortable. I would love for the school that I love so much to ensure this does not happen to any other student of color and if it happens again, the necessary actions will be taken.”
