The nonpartisan Free to Be at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ student organization will host an Oct. 21 forum to give Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder students, faculty, staff and the public opportunities to engage in productive discussions with each other and several candidates running for office in Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ.
The candidate forum will take place 6 to 9 p.m. in Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder’s Math 100 lecture hall. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis. The only bags permitted inside are clear bags. Questions may be directed to info@freetobecoalition.com. The event will be streamed live on the .

Debaters will include attorney general candidates Phil Weiser and George Brauchler; secretary of state candidates Wayne Williams and Jena Griswold; regent-at-large candidates Ken Montera and Lesley Smith; treasurer candidates Dave Young and Brian Watson; and Peter Yu, who is running for Congress in the second congressional district against Joe Neguse, who is not available to participate in the debate. The forum will be moderated by Elizabeth Stapp, senior instructor with the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder Leeds School of Business.
The student organization seeks to support Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder students by giving them opportunities to watch debates modeled in a positive and productive manner; to develop stronger speaking skills; and to network with other students who share their interest in politics and current events.
Regent Heidi Ganahl, a Republican, and Regent Jack Kroll, a Democrat, have been lending their support to the students organizing the event. Free to Be at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ is an organization committed to promoting respectful and productive dialogue through debates and other programs.
