Student asks question during religious studies course

The Office of the Provost is calling for participation in fall 2019 First-Year Seminars (FYS), open to instructors and tenure/tenure-track faculty in all departments. Course proposals are due Sept. 30.

Because students continue to respond positively to the FYS course structure, the goal is to increase the number of sections significantly for fall 2019 so that more students can benefit from this small-class experience.

Each course will be a 3-credit section, limited to 19 students, and focused on a topic developed by the faculty member with emphasis on subjects of interest to a wide range of first-year students. The format allows faculty to have sufficient contact with each student and to introduce high-impact experiences such as semester-long projects.

All proposals will be reviewed by a panel of faculty with cross-campus representation. Approved courses will be eligible to be submitted for appropriate curriculum committee approval for general education and/or major/minor credit.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please visit the FYS websiteԻsubmit your proposal online. For additional questions, contact Erica Ellingson, professor and associate vice provost for Undergraduate Education, at erica.ellingson@colorado.edu
