A new Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder study finds that drier summers and a decline in average snowpack over the past 40 years have severely hampered the establishment of fir and spruce trees in subalpine regions of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s Front Range, suggesting that climate warming is already taking a toll on forest health in some areas of the state, says Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder researcher Robert Andrus, lead author of the study.
