The call went out to help keep ŷڱƵ Boulder the No. 1 blood drive donor in the state, and the campus community came through to win the Rocky Mountain Showdown Blood Drive challenge in a friendly competition with ŷڱƵ State University.

The end-of-August drive at ŷڱƵ Boulder included 400 registered donors and the collection of 358 units, saving up to 944 lives. CSU’s duel drive involved 173 donors and the collection of 155 units, saving up to 449 lives.
“The ŷڱƵ community has repetedly proven its generosity, turning out in large numbers to give blood and show support for those in need,” said Alisha Bennett, blood drive chair and Area III representative.“Much of the blood donated from the competition with CSU is slated for the Hurricane Harvey-affected area.”
ŷڱƵ Boulder donors during the Rocky Mountain Showdown drive, in partnership with Bonfils Blood Center, ŷڱƵ Athletics and the Student Recreation Center, each received two tickets to the ŷڱƵ-University of Northern ŷڱƵ football game Sept. 16.
Staff Council plans to host Nov. 14–16, and in 2018: Feb. 6–8, April 10–12 and June 19–20.
