Spring Diversity and Inclusion Summit partners with Diverse Learners Awareness Week.Join ŷڱƵ Boulder in embracing and embodying our human differences and celebrating the diversity of ways in which people learnduring the Spring 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Summit (Feb. 23) and theDiverse Learners Awareness Week.

Monday, Feb.20

Modern Indian Identity lecture.Join Charlotte Roderrique, former Chairwoman of the Burns Paiute tribe of Eastern Oregon, for a free lecture titled “The 2016 Oregon Wildlife Refuge Takeover: A Tribal Response.” Roderique will be discussing the tribal lands of Native people in Benson 180 at 6:30 p.m. so come on by and get some education.

DSCCpresents Denroy Morgan.Come by UMC 457, the Dennis Small Cultural Center, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for a free discussion and performance of traditional Caribbean reggae with musician Denroy Morgan and the RCC Nyabinghi Ensemble. This event is free and there will be food provided so bring your dancing shoes and hungry stomach!

African dance fusion.Come and learn some traditional and modern Ethiopian dance moves with the Cultural Unity and Engagement Center in honor of Black History Month. Folks will be gathering in Muenzinger E0046 at 6:30 p.m. to dance and celebrate and hang out with friends, so come on down and add to your dance repertoire! This event is free and open to all.

Wednesday, Feb.22

Self care and wellness forum.Join the Black Student Alliance for a wellness forum focusing on hair and makeup and take a break from your stressful week with some self-care. There will be free haircuts and makeup tutorials by professionals so don’t miss out! This event is free and will be held in ENVR 134 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Goalballdrop in.If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to play a sport without the benefit of sight, then swing by the lower basketball gym of the Rec tonight for a game of Goalball from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Goalball is played using the sound of a bell inside of a ball, and you will not be able to use your eyes. Bring some friends and try out this fun game as part of Inclusive Rec.

Thursday, Feb.23

Community service networking night.If you’re hoping to get more involved with your ŷڱƵ and Boulder communities, then visit UMC 382 between 6:30 and 8 p.m.for an evening of networking with your like-minded volunteers. This event is free and you will be working to put together donations for the Boulder Homeless Shelter.

Friday, Feb.24

A night of soul.Join spoken word poet of the year Frankie A. Soto for a night of poetry and self-expression. Bring an original poem to read at this event and share your work with your supportive peers. This poetry night takes place from 6 to 8 in the JD Abrams Lounge.

International Coffee Hour.Get together with the International Student and Scholars Program for an afternoon of free food, coffee, triviaand lively conversation in the UMC Grill from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Come one, come all and bring your global trivia knowledge to win some prizes at this free social event.

Saturday, Feb.25

RL Grime and Ty Dolla $ign.The Program Council presents hip hop artist RL Grime and rapper Ty Dolla $ign for a concert in Balch Field House this evening from 6 to 11 p.m. These popular artists throw down and you won’t want to miss this fun performance. Tickets are $35 for students with a valid Buff OneCard.
