Professor Laurel Rasplica Rodd, chair of the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Boulder department of East Asian languages and literatures, has received the 1998 Scholarship Award from the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Congress of Foreign Language Teachers.
Rodd was cited for her "contributions and dedication to the teaching profession" by the professional association of all foreign language teachers in the state. The award was presented in a ceremony on Feb. 26.
Rodd has taught at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Boulder since 1994. She specializes in the study of classical Japanese literature, especially poetry and women writers. She is the author of three books and numerous book chapters, articles and translations.
