Several undergraduate students at the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ at Boulder have received diversity scholarships to study in other countries.

Two diversity scholarships, one awarded by Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Boulder and the other by the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Commission on Higher Education, help cover expenses in the Study Abroad program for Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ residents who are underrepresented on the Boulder campus because they are ethnic minorities or from the stateÂ’s rural areas.

Following are the names of diversity scholarship recipients, their hometowns, scholarship name, award amount, location and semester of study abroad and academic major.

Alamosa

Gwendolyn Kolupke, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Commission on Higher Education Diversity Scholarship, $750, Edinburgh, Scotland, spring 1997, English.

Aurora

Vien Tran, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Boulder Diversity Scholarship, $1,000, Hanoi, Vietnam, spring 1997, psychology and political science. Tran also received a travel grant from the Council on International Educational Exchange.

Boulder

Brian McIlvaine, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Boulder Diversity Scholarship, $700, Wollongong, Australia, spring 1997, geography and environmental studies.

Burlington

Stephanie Ohnmacht, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Commission on Higher Education Diversity Scholarship, $800, Norwich, England, spring 1997, finance.

Pueblo West

Sarah Bruestle, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Commission on Higher Education Diversity Scholarship, $700, Monte Vista, Costa Rica, spring 1997, environmental studies.
