Jasmine Ramirez 2nd year AuD Student

Jasmine Ramirez, a second year AuD听student has received the first annual Richard D. Wyant Endowed Award in Audiology. This award provides undergraduate students, residents, fellows, or audiology graduate students within the University of 欧美口爆视频 School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery funding to be used towards furthering the field of audiology. The award is given to students who display and demonstrate excellence within the field of audiology and who plan to further it by working with underrepresented populations. The award serves to improve audiologic services and access to disadvantaged populations, as such recipients of the award are expected to carry out a diversity initiative within audiology.听

Jasmine's initiative includes serving and working with underrepresented communities within the Front Range to offer audiological services and education about hearing loss that they otherwise might not have access to. 听Part of her diversity initiative includes offering hearing screenings in underrepresented neighborhoods, educating the community about hearing loss and providing further audiologic resources. In addition, she will be working with Dr. Anu Sharma and Dr. Vinay Manchaiah on a hearing aid research project that focuses particularly on data outcomes for underrepresented populations.
