- Since 2003, the Buffalo Bicycle Classic has raised $3.4 million dollars in scholarships for Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ students. There is still time to register for the event, which includes nine route options and a virtual ride! Use code CHANGELIVES for $15 off registration (valid through 9/1/2022).
- Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ's annual bike fest is almost here! Come celebrate bikes on Thursday, Sept. 1, from 2:00-6:00 pm at Farrand Field and enjoy free food, music, and games. Chat with local bike-related businesses and bike advocacy groups, and if you are on the hunt for a bike to buy, get there early to scope out the annual used bike sale!
- It’s official–ŷÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Bike Fest returns on September 1st, 2022 from 2-7 p.m. Stop by Farrand field to enjoy some free food, shirts, music, and exciting games! The event will wrap up with Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s annual used bike sale.
- Registration is open for the largest scholarship fundraising event in Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ. The annual event has grown to include nine different routes (and one virtual route)—from short cruises to epic gravel rides—and remains focused on the real prize: student scholarships. Come support the academic efforts of high-achieving Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder students on September 11, 2022!
- Convenience and flexibility. Ravin, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ student and one millionth B-Cycle rider, cited these factors in explaining why he uses the bike share program frequently. As the one millionth B-Cycle rider, Ravin received a prize package prepared by Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ's Environmental Center. The package included fun items like Pit Viper shades, a Mountain Smith soft-sided cooler, a bike shaped pizza cutter, and more. Next up: two million rides!
- Feb 11th, 2022! Join cyclists around the world braving the elements and riding to work, and grab a free breakfast at a bike station on your way. Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ will be hosting a breakfast station on the south side of the UMC. The Environmental Center will be handing out breakfast burritos, gluten-free vegan cookies, and some fun bike program swag. Click on the article for links!
- Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ recently partnered with a local bike shop, Louisville Cyclery, to help provide those affected by the Marshall Fire with bikes. Click on the article to find out how you can help and more.
- Because bike mechanics work outdoors with their hands, cold weather makes it difficult to provide quality service. As such, campus bike stations are often closed during the winter. Please check the ECenter’s website for daily updates on bike station status.
- BCycle ridership is going through the roof! Did you know that the number of trips taken on BCycle bikes between the start of school (Aug 18th) and the 1st day of October has tripled year over year since 2019?! In 2019, ~3,500 riders took 23,218 trips. This year, in large part due to Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ student ridership, the number of trips have jumped to 68,292 by more than 9,800 riders.Â
