I am an MA student in the Linguistics department. My research interests include Linguistic Anthropology and Cognitive Linguistics, primarily how language affects cognition and those effects on society especially regarding race and ethnicity and other sorts of identities. I am interested in effects both on smaller scale groups and in regards to globalization. My interests also include sociocultural effects of language, maintenance of social hierarchies, and marginalizaiton as well as linguistic archaeology and language documentation.
