I am a discourse analyst and am influenced by methods in ethnomethodological conversation analysis, sociolinguistics, and (micro)ethnography. I work at the intersection of Language and Social Interaction and Interpersonal Communication, and my interests include how discourse constructs identity, institutional contexts, and the discursive practices and strategies people employ in their everyday lives. I have done work on reported speech, institutional and cultural identity, interviewing, questions and disagreement strategies. I am interested in pursuing how people construct moral identities for themselves and others in conflict situations.
