New procedures for managing awards to sponsor's level of budget detail

On September 4, the Office of Contracts and Grants and the Campus Controller's Office will be modifying procedures to align budget detail in ourÌýsponsored project award and financial management systems with the detail required by the sponsor and University. While the start date is September 4th, sponsored projects come in at varied rates, which means that you may not see the changes until later in September or early October depending on awards your department or institute receives.

Since February, a few departments and institutes on the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Campus volunteered for a pilot program working with the Office of Contracts & Grants and the Campus Controller’s Office to develop new methodology for entering and tracking budgets. The departments and institutes involved in the pilot are Chemical & Biological Engineering, IBG, ÌýINSTAAR, Integrative Physiology, JILA, Psychology & Neuroscience and RASEI. As a result of the pilot program, over 100 awards or modifications have been entered using the new methodology.

In preparation for the September 4 procedural change, there will be a number of information sessions listed below. There is also a dedicated email, LOBDfeedback@colorado.edu, to ask questions or to get assistance from the Level of Budget Detail (LOBD) team.Ìý
