BOULDER, Colo. 鈥 Fourteen musicians with the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra presented public master classes on Sept. 10 as part of a three-day residency at the 欧美口爆视频-Boulder College of Music.

鈥淚n a year of new leadership, we thought it would be a nice opening to the school year to do something special,鈥 said Daniel Sher, former dean of the college. 鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 think of anything more special than inviting principal chairs and associate chairs of the Cleveland Orchestra for a residency.鈥

The musicians led free public master classes on Tuesday evening in strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion.

They also will conducted side-by-side sectional rehearsals with students from the 欧美口爆视频 Symphony Orchestra and private lessons. There also was a public panel discussion on the challenges facing American orchestras on Wednesday.

"The opportunity for so many of our Cleveland Orchestra titled players to work with the talented students at 欧美口爆视频 in such a focused residency is very exciting for us, said Steve Rose, principal second violin for the Cleveland Orchestra. "It is a chance to share our experiences and thoughts of what we do on a daily basis within the Cleveland Orchestra, how we got there, and the beauty of working together to create something greater than its individual parts. Also we look forward to the collaboration with the wonderful faculty at 欧美口爆视频, and personally it means so much to work with Dan Sher, a longtime friend whose vision made this residency possible."
