Hobbies: When not working on science, Steve enjoys playing guitar and keeping fit. He writes, records, and performs music, and is also an officer in the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder Hiking Club.

Steven Latimer is a second-year PhD student at the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ, Boulder. Steven graduated from the Clarkson University Honors Program with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Physics. He then worked for several years as a systems engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat, working on compressed gas systems for nuclear submarines. His interest in space exploration led him to pursue graduate studies at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, where he aims to do research work that contributes to spacecraft technology and related sciences. Interest in hypersonic flight, spacecraft re-entry, propulsion systems, and fluid mechanics led him to join the Magnetoaerodynamics and Aerospace Plasmas Laboratory at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder, where he hopes to study plasma physics topics with aerospace applications while advancing his hands-on and experimental research skills.
