Community Impact
Erick Mueller, executive director of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, has been touring the state to teach rural communities about entrepreneurship, hoping to help invigorate areas that have seen a decline in major industries.
Students in the Design for America organization at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder are working on a wide range of projects with community partners. They use the design process to collaborate with local entities (often non-profit organizations) to create solutions to their challenges.
From May 13-17, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder faculty, staff and alumni discussed progress made across the campus innovation ecosystem as well as ways for community members to engage with Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ while benefitting their own ventures.Â
Nearly two years ago, Liz Kashinski (’19) had just wrapped up her first year at the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Law School when she got an opportunity to step out of studying doctrinal law and step into the world of entrepreneurship and collaborative problem solving, ultimately helping to create a new way to decrease isolation for older adults.
Once again, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder is participating as the University Track sponsor at Boulder Startup Week (BSW) from May 13-17. There will be six University Track sessions featuring Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder faculty, staff, and alumni.
On March 12, 2019, Australian startup community leaders visited Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder to experience the university's vast innovation ecosystem and learn about the campus-wide Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative.Â
