Jason Hofmann (IAFS 鈥16) knew that an internship was key for his academic success at 欧美口爆视频-Boulder. Last year, 聽he searched extensively for internships at campus career fairs聽and information sessions. A friend invited him to attend the聽Goldman Sachs聽seminar, held in 欧美口爆视频-Boulder's Leeds School of Business. Hoffman shares: 鈥淎t this seminar, I networked with people from Goldman Sachs and expressed interest in their internship. After applying and interviewing, they offered me a position to be a summer analyst in Salt Lake City, Utah.鈥

Hofmann worked in Capital Markets Operations, specializing in domestic equity trade. Throughout the 10-week summer program, he worked with colleagues around the globe鈥攆rom London to Bangalore and Singapore. 鈥淲orking for Goldman Sachs exposed me to many aspects of international affairs,鈥 says Hoffman. 鈥淚 learned how different cultures affect business and I gained a better understanding of certain global market trends. I was able to foster my passion for international affairs and finance throughout the summer in a professional setting.鈥

Being Goldman Sachs鈥 fourth largest office worldwide, the Salt Lake City office plays a pivotal role in maintaining the firm's success. Hofmann knew his internship would help him further his understanding in international finance with a large corporation, and ultimately shape his future career moves. The experience proved to be fast paced and rewarding on multiple levels.

Hofmann鈥檚 internship helped him sharpen his time management and data analysis skills. Both are skills he hopes will aid him with finishing his academic career, and launch him into the professional world of international finance and trade.聽
