Dante in Florence - Global Seminar

Apply by February 1stÌýto study abroad in Italy next summer! Ìýis a Global Seminar course taught in Florence, Italy, by Professor Suzanne Magnanini in May.ÌýOn this program, students will:

  • Explore Dante's most fantastic images in the Inferno, formed through references to the medieval art and architecture in Italy
  • Participate on day excursions to Pisa, Monteriggioni, Siena, Montaperti, and San Gimignano
  • Study both the sites to which Dante refers to inInferno and the works of other artists inspired by his poem

This course is open to all majors,Ìýand counts for the following Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ requirements:

  • Upper division Literature and the Arts Core requirement
  • A&S Gen Ed: Arts & Humanities Upper-division
  • 4000-level elective credit for Italian majors
  • Upper-division elective credit for Italian minors
  • 3000-level Art History credit
  • Engineering Humanities/Social Science credit
  • CMCI Core: Humanities & Arts
  • International Affairs Off-Campus Experience
  • Upper-division Humanities credit
