PES peer advisors work in close cooperation with PES academic advisors to support undergraduate students across the 欧美口爆视频 Boulder campus by helping them navigate academic requirements and university policies, connect them to campus resources and encourage campus involvement. Our team is a dynamic group who enjoys working with and supporting our campus community.

Program in Exploratory Studies Peer Advisor听

罢丑别听Program in Exploratory Studies is looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated undergraduate students to serve as Peer Advisors.听We are currently hiring for Summer 2025 - applicants must be available to work 30-40 hours per week for the upcoming summer!

  • Serve as frontline support by working at the front desk of the advising office. Front desk duties include providing a high level of customer service to students and families via phone, email, LiveChat, and in-person
  • Provide academic advising by addressing questions, helping navigate various 欧美口爆视频 portals, and assisting with registration and intra-university transfer
  • Make accurate referrals to other campus offices and departments
  • Serve as student perspective in cross-campus events, classes, information fairs, and feedback surveys. This could also include helping teach FYXP classes as needed.
  • Help plan, host, and attend PES and Design Your Path LLC events
  • Engage in recruitment and promotional initiatives through admissions events, student panels, social media, and other marketing platforms
  • Provide administrative and office management duties as needed, including helping our program managers and advisors with program-specific administrative tasks
  • Guide incoming students with schedule planning and registration during the New Student Welcome period. This could include large group, small group, and one-on-one presentations, training, and support.
  • Support summer programming including in-person and virtual orientations, as well as pre-arrival program preparation and implementation
  • Attend required trainings to continue learning and developing workplace skills
  • Attend regularly scheduled one-on-one and team meetings
  • Typical work hours fall Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Occasional early morning, later evening, or weekend hours may be required (advance notice will be given)
  • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate student (not required to have been a PES student) who has completed at least one semester at 欧美口爆视频 Boulder
  • Be in good standing with the university (>2.0 cumulative GPA)
  • Excellent communication skills, high level of personal responsibility and resourcefulness, and drive for self-motivation and independence
  • Ability to work effectively and non-judgmentally with diverse populations
  • Adhere to FERPA regulations which includes confidentiality of student information
  • Flexibility to jump in where needed (front desk, events, presentations, FYXP classes, advising, etc.)听
  • Period of appointment: Summer 2025 - must be available for 30-40 hours per week for the summer term which runs from May 12, 2025 until August 20, 2025. Option to renew for 2025-26 academic year based on positive performance. Typical work hours are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm though occasional evenings/weekends may be requested.
  • Training:听 Training will occur on the job (paid) and cover Peer Advisor responsibilities and expectations. Weekly check-ins and mid-semester mandatory one-on-one meetings to discuss individual performance and goals.
  • Hours per week:听 30-40 hours per week during the summer; 5-12 hours per week during semester
  • Compensation:听听Student employees will be classified as Student-Hourly and earn a wage of $16.00 per hour. Both work-study and non-work-study positions available.
  • Benefits: As a student hourly employee, you are eligible for FAMLI, jury duty pay, sick leave and maybe subject to enrollment in the Student Employment Retirement Plan (SERP); Optional Savings Plans 403B, 457, 401k. Sick leave accrues at a rate of 0.034 hours per every 1 hour worked. You are not eligible for fringe benefits such as vacation, unemployment, paid holiday leave and/or tuition remission.
