EVEN Team Wins 3rd Place at National WEFTEC Student Design Competition
EVEN team “GBL Engineering” has taken third place at the 2016 WEFTEC Design Competition for its submission, North Water Reclamation Facility Expansion, presented for Parker Water & Sanitation District. GBL Engineering was invited to compete in New Orleans, LA at the national WEFTEC Design Competition after its first place win in the 2016 Regional RMSAWWA/RMWEA Student Design Competition this spring.
GBL Engineering is composed of Julie Barstow, Kelsey Bennett, Haley Goddard, Jack Greene and Anisha Lamsal, recent graduates of ŷڱƵ Environmental Engineering.
Christopher Corwin, EVEN instructor, served as faculty advisor of the Design Team.
WEFTEC is the world’s largest annual water quality exhibition where Member Associations proudly select their best Student Chapter Design Team to participate in the annual WEFTEC Design Competition. GBL Engineering participated in the Wastewater Design Competition in which they presented their exceptional design for hydraulic and capacity specifications, upgrades to existing systems and biosolids handing.
Student Design Competitions are intended to promote real world design experience for students interested in pursuing a career and/or education in water and wastewater engineering and sciences. The competition promotes interest and skills that will prove to be extremely valuable as the students enter the professional world.
