In the tenth iteration of the Rome Global Seminar, Environmental Design students embarked on a summer field course, exploring the rich culture and historic urban landscapes of both Rome and Syracuse, Italy.

Mark Meiser (ENVD'89) and Kate Sector (ENVD'19) returned to campus last week to be honored as recipients of the 2024 Environmental Design Alumni Awards.

Thirteen ENVD award recipients were honored and recognized for their achievements during a scholarship luncheon held in the University Memorial Center’s Aspen Room.

The University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder Program in Environmental Design has announced the recipient of the 2024 Environmental Design Alumni Awards. This year’s honoree for the Distinguished Alumni Award is Mark Meiser and the Young Designer Award recipient is Kate Sector.

The Creative Labs Center (CLC), one of ENVD’s specialized workshops and studio spaces, has been a hub of activity, hosting thousands of students and countless projects. This summer, however, the CLC welcomed a unique group of residents — a flock of birds.

This fall, ENVD welcomes three new faculty, a postdoctoral associate and three staff members.

Assistant Teaching Professor Jared Arp and Creative Labs Center Coordinator Kiera Cudmore spent much of the summer redesigning the remaining third floor studios while constructing new study spots, maker spaces and lounge seating on the western side of the building.

This past weekend, ENVD hosted its annual new student orientation. Students participated in presentations and activities led by undergraduate education student success staff, ENVD faculty and first-year experience (FYE) student mentors. Welcome, class of 2028! We’re so happy you’re here.

Julianne Ramsey majored in architecture with a minor in leadership, and participated in a two-year INVST Community Program at Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ.

The competition was reviewed by Shihomi Kuriyagawa and Emily Urquhart at the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department.
