    In these unusual times, the School of Education is beyond grateful for our school partners and mentor teachers, who are helping student teachers navigate challenging times with strength, joy, and creativity in their classrooms.聽Each teaching team has a unique story. We asked some student teachers and their mentors what their partnership has meant to them, and here is what they shared.

    With many K-12 schools switched to remote or hybrid learning settings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 欧美口爆视频 Teach partner schools and teachers have been particularly grateful to have support from 欧美口爆视频 Boulder students. The one-credit Step 1 (EDUC 2020) and Step 2 (EDUC 2030) education courses invite 欧美口爆视频 Boulder STEM majors to explore teaching and work with elementary classrooms.

    In 鈥淧ublic Influence Rankings鈥 released Jan. 6, two members of the 欧美口爆视频 Boulder School of Education faculty were recognized as among the nation鈥檚 top 200 researchers whose scholarship bridges academic and public audiences. Professors聽Kevin Welner and Bill Penuel were listed among national聽Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings.

    Youth leaders in the Public Achievement program are navigating uncertain times during the COVID-19 pandemic. They鈥檝e discovered new ways to express themselves through digital tools, including a series of webinars covering some of the biggest issues affecting their lives 鈥 voting rights, the Black Lives Matter movement, COVID-19 health inequities, and more.

    This fall, 欧美口爆视频 Boulder's Ed Talks centered educators' voices and visions for the future. From a first-year teacher to a co-founder of an innovative new school, speakers shared how they are sustaining and supporting themselves, their colleagues, their students, and their communities in these challenging times.   • Children's Book Festival
    The School of Education and the Boulder Book Store are teaming up to host the virtual Children鈥檚 Book Festival on Monday, Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to noon. The event will feature an interactive panel with nationally known authors, and it invites teachers, K-12 classes, families, librarians 鈥 all who love children鈥檚 books.

    It is more important than ever to center educators' voices and experiences in these changing and challenging times. Join us this Thursday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. for a special virtual gathering for 欧美口爆视频 Boulder鈥檚 Ed Talks, a series of short, engaging talks inspired by TED Talks that address some of today鈥檚 most pressing issues in education.

    Jes煤s Rodr铆guez is the new of Executive Director of the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education in School of Education. Rodr铆guez brings extensive experience as a school and district leader in Denver Public Schools and is an alumnus of the center鈥檚 College Assistance Migrant Program, Career Ladder Program, and Master's in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity program.
