FranklinÌýChilakaÌýis a first-year doctoral student in the Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice (EFPP) Ph.D.Ìýprogram in the School of Education at the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder. His research interest examines the relationship between holistic mentorship and Black LGBTQ men's self-efficacyÌýand persistence in higher education. Prior to joining the Crown Institute,ÌýFranklinÌýserved in many higher education roles in residence life, student conduct, affinity-based mentoring, and first year experience. Born and raised in California,ÌýFranklinÌýholds an MA in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University and a BA in Sociology and Black Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.ÌýFranklinÌýworks on the Mindful Campus Program. In his freeÌýtime,ÌýFranklinÌýenjoys being active, music, cooking and spending time with friends and family.Ìý
