<p>With severe state budget cuts looming, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ President Bruce Benson and other frustrated higher education leaders are asking lawmakers for the flexibility to raise tuition as they feel necessary.</p>

<p>In November Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ voters elected two first-generation Americans — also among the youngest ever elected — to serve on the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Board of Regents, making it the most diverse board ever. </p>
