The stadium, originally called Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Stadium, was renamed Folsom Field after legendary Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ football coach and law professor Frederick Folsom in 1944.
Once Upon a Time: Temporary Building No. 1 was originally designed as a teaching hospital for Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s medical school and also served as an infirmary. During the 1918 Influenza epidemic, hospital staff provided care to the campus community and citizens of Boulder County.
When it opened, Old Main included living quarters for the president and his family, plus classrooms, a library, laboratories and rooms for the building custodian and his family.
From its earliest days, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder educated men and women both. But it wasn’t until 1934 that the first largescale women’s dormitory opened.
While in her 20s, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-born Kirsten Ring Murray moved to Seattle with an enthusiasm for its romantic landscape — woods, mountains and water and, hopefully, a career in architecture.
