Jeff Stieb鈥檚 youngest听patient so far is a 7-yearold听skier, his oldest a听man of about 90 who still听climbs 14ers.听

It鈥檚 been nearly a听century since there was a听hospital on the 欧美口爆视频-Boulder听campus, but the听university is again providing听community medicine,听with a focus on athletes.听

鈥淲e鈥檝e had听everyone听from Frisbee golf听players to stunt men to听elite marathon runners,鈥澨齭aid Stieb, director of听physical therapy at the听欧美口爆视频 Sports Medicine and听Performance Center,听which opened last August听in Folsom Field鈥檚 new听Champions Center.听

A joint operation of听Boulder Community听Health,听the 欧美口爆视频 Anschutz听School of Medicine听and 欧美口爆视频 Athletics, the听25,000-square-foot center听is open to the public听and aims to become an听international destination听for elite athletes,听while also serving active听people of all ages and听abilities, said executive听director Eric Medved.听

The center offers听physical therapy, orthopedics,听sports nutrition,听pain management,听performance assessment,听physiological and听metabolic testing and听other services.听

Medical director Dr. Jason听Glowney recalled an听early success, a once-avid听cyclist sidelined by听artery scarring and related听ailments. Today she鈥檚听back on her bike.听

鈥淲e saved her limb,鈥澨齢e said. 鈥淎nd we saved听her lifestyle.鈥
