Simpson Honored with Men's Golf Tourney

Men’s golf coach Roy Edwards announced that Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ’s new fall invitational tournament has been named in honor of Mark Simpson (Rec’83), the longtime Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ coach who passed away in 2005 after battling cancer.
The first Mark Simpson Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Invitational will be Sept. 27-28 at Erie’s Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ National Golf Club, the Buffs’ home course. It’s the first intercollegiate tournament that the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ men will host in Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ since the 1993 Fox Acres Invitational at Red Feather Lakes.
Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-based teams scheduled to take part are Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ, Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ State, Denver, Air Force and Northern Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ.
