2018 Community Building Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Style Conference

More than 130 participantsÌýattended our 2018 Community Building Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ-Style Conference, whichÌýbroughtÌýtogether leadersÌýfrom neighborhoods, towns,Ìýcities and the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder to build bridges between local governments, practitioners and Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵÌýBoulder researchers. The conference opened with two visionaries, Dana Crawford, award-winning preservationist and recipientÌýof the Vanguard Legacy award of the 2018 Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Governor’s Citizenship Medal, and Marilee Utter, president, Citiventure Associates, speakingÌýabout what they envision for the future of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ communities. Expert speakers and panelists coveredÌýtopics such as innovations in university engagement,ÌýDenver's green roof ordinance,Ìýsmart city technologies and citizen and youth engagement in city design.Ìý​The event wasÌýsponsored by Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Boulder’s Community Engagement, Design and Research Center (CEDaR), the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) and Downtown Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ Inc. (DCI).
