Profile

Assistant Professor Hun Shik Kim teaches broadcast journalism, international communication and war and conflict reporting. A former network television journalist with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) in Korea for 13 years, Kim was legal correspondent, foreign correspondent, investigative reporter, anchor, and news producer. As foreign correspondent, he covered several international conflicts, including the Iraq War, the India-Pakistan鈥檚 Kashmir conflict, and the Sri Lankan civil war. His research has been published in the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic MediaJournalism & Mass Communication Quarterly,Mass Communication and Society, and Journal of Asian Communication. In 2012, Kim wrote a book on global conflicts and war correspondents. He holds PhD and MA degrees from the University of Missouri鈥檚 School of Journalism, and a BA in English Literature from Chung-Ang University, Korea.
