Transforming Business: Connecting Diverse Scholars
March 7, 2025
Changing the world, one leader at a time
At Leeds, we’re determined to create a pipeline of diverse leaders. That’s why we’re invested in the success of our diverse graduate students—they are tomorrow’s changemakers, CEOs and leaders who will transform business worldwide.
Ìý
This spring, we invite prospective graduate students to a very special event, Transforming Business: Connecting Diverse Scholars—an immersive event withÌýenriching content and connections with diverse faculty, classmates, alumni, corporate partners and board members. It’s a special opportunity to kick-start relationships and become part of a powerful network at Leeds, before classes even start!
Ìý
While our student body steadily grows more diverse, we continue to push toward equity, both at Leeds and in the world of business. We hope you’ll join us.

Special thanks to a diversity advocate
Ellen Balaguer, a champion of DEI efforts at Leeds, established theÌýMel and Marcy Balaguer ScholarshipÌýthat gives economically and socially disadvantaged students the opportunity to get a high-quality business education. In addition, she has provided funding for programming and activities in support of diverse graduate students, including our new event, Transforming Business: Connecting Diverse Scholars.
EllenÌýnamed the scholarshipÌýfor her parents whoÌýendured hardships and sacrifices to send herÌý(and her brothers)Ìýto college. Now,Ìýshe hopes to give the same opportunity to others.Ìý
A retired global managing director at Accenture, she serves as an emeritus chair onÌýtheÌýLeeds Advisory Board and has earned the Leeds Distinguished Alumni and Service Award in recognition for her service to the school. Visit our websiteÌýtoÌýlearn about other scholarship opportunities.
