Dr. Kimberly D. Campbell is a Communication Instructor for the Leeds School of Business at the University of Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ at Boulder. Kimberly earned her Ph.D. from Howard University (2002), her M.A. from California State University – Fullerton (1997), and her BA from Florida State University (1993).
Kimberly has taught a variety of human interaction and communication-centered courses including communication strategy, business and professional communication, interpersonal communication, public speaking, organizational communication, communication theory, qualitative research methods, conflict resolution, urban rhetorical patterns, leadership, nonverbal communication, gender and communication, communication education and pedagogy, African American communication and culture, rhetoric and social movements, and persuasive campaigns. Kimberly previously served as Interim Department Chair at Texas Southern University and Business Communication course director at Wayne State University.
Kimberly’s scholarship examines the nexus of self-awareness and interpersonal success in organizational contexts. She also examines African American co-cultural identities in rhetorical, organizational, and global contexts. Kimberly is a passionate presenter and has written instructor’s manuals and teaching supplements for public speaking textbooks coauthored the text Essentials of Business and Professional Communication (2010), and has published in academic and mainstream publications. Kimberly has lived and worked in multiple countries, is passionate about cross-cultural communication and intrapersonal development, and is an advocate for the unleashing of amazing gifts and talents within people.
